Lake Pehoe, Chile
Photograph by Ockert Le Roux, National Geographic Your Shot
Your Shot community member Ockert Le Roux captured this scene in southern Chile, one of the wildest places on Earth. "As the constellation of Orion sets on the western horizon over Lake Pehoé, in the Torres del Paine National Park in Chile, the full moon rises from behind, with my fellow photographers capturing night landscapes of this magnificent part of Patagonia," he says. Chilean Patagonia has more than 30 million acres in national parks and reserves.
